Ombre Moon Workshop Full Description

This class will introduce you to the meditative practice of weaving without a loom — we will use a moon frame to create an ombré woven tapestry that you can hang or set on a shelf. And, we'll "weave" in some fun astrology and moon mapping to help you discover and harness the moon's energy as a renewal and self-care practice.

Within the world of astrology (or study of the stars), the moon plays a role in our natal charts, governing our inner landscape from personality to emotions and habitual behaviors. Externally, each phase of the moon holds a different kind of energy and magic that we can use in our daily life. The art of moon mapping is a practice in which we can align aspects of our life with the phases of the moon. For example, farmers and gardeners use the moon for timing when to sow seeds and plants. Each of the eight lunar phases offers a different energy and opportunity, whether it is setting goals, ramping energy up to meet them, resting and releasing the energy we have expended, and reflecting upon work before renewing the cycle. While we're weaving moons together, we'll also learn a little about moon mapping and natal charts, including information, resources and a special gift that you can take home with you.

This workshop will cover the basic techniques of weaving without a loom as well as how to create an ombré effect and how to embellish with texture, which you can do with any weaving project. You'll leave the class with your very own moon weaving, insight into your own natal chart, and moon mapping practices!

Weaving Full Circle Workshop Description

This customizable workshop (can range from 2 hours or more) serves as moving meditation, where the loom guides you through nature's cycles as you weave.

As a moving meditation, the process of weaving has a magical way of helping us to get out of our heads to simply "be," and experience flow when working the loom. Circular weaving, which uses a round loom, deepens this magic. As we spiral inward and outward on the loom, we mirror nature's cycles: the moon's phases, the seasons, even our own breath. Each cycle or season carries a unique energy that can impact our own energy levels, emotions and well-being. Connecting with natural cycles helps us to find balance and feel a sense of belonging to the world around us.

In this beginner-friendly workshop, you'll:

  • Create a miniature circular tapestry using a hoop loom, learning foundational weaving stitches.
  • Practice weaving as meditation — using breath and rhythm to re-center when feeling stressed.
  • Connect to nature's wisdom — your loom is like a tiny garden, each thread a quiet act of growth.

You'll leave the workshop with:

  • A finished circular weaving.
  • Simple mindfulness tools to reuse anytime.
  • The quiet pride of making something beautiful with your hands — no screens, no rush.

Looking for a mini-retreat from the daily grind? Ready to tap into your creative spirit? This workshop is perfect for stressed creatives, professionals, teachers, nature lovers, or anyone craving a hands-on pause. New to weaving? That's okay! Zero experience needed — just curiosity!

What's included in your workshop registration:

  • Guided workshop
  • Full Circle Weaving Kit (4" hoop loom + cotton warp yarn, assorted fibers, needles, and weaving pick, guides + mindfulness cards for post-workshop practice).
