How We Got Here
In 2018, we bought a 100-year-old fixer-upper farmhouse in Gastonia, North Carolina. There was no plan. Which, if you know us — two planners by nature — is a little funny. But sometimes you just know.
Farming was in our blood. Ancestors on both sides of the family worked the land. Being outside fuels us. And so, without quite intending to, we started building something.
The first summer brought two raised beds, olive and fig trees, berry bushes, and twelve baby chicks. One of those chicks turned out to be a rooster. His name is Hernan, and he has served as head of security for the coop ever since.
When the pandemic came, we leaned in harder. More beds. More time in our little corner of the world. Then came three pygmy goats — named Luke, Han Solo, and Anakin by our daughters, deep in their Star Wars era. Then the alpacas, because Courtney had started weaving.
In October 2026, we followed something — a pull toward water, toward space, toward the next version of what this farm could be. We moved to the Scotts Hill area of Wilmington, North Carolina. Ten minutes from the water. You can smell the sea breeze on the air, and still feel like you're deep in the woods. It's serene in a way that's hard to explain until you're standing in it.
The farmhouse we started on eight years ago shaped us. This place is where we grow.

Farm FAQs
What if I need to cancel?
We understand that life happens. If you need to cancel, please let us know at least 48 hours before your scheduled visit or workshop and we'll issue a credit toward a future date. Cancellations made less than 48 hours in advance are non-refundable, but we'll always do our best to work with you. Credits are valid for 6 months from the date of issue.

Is the farm accessible?
The farm is on natural ground and may not be fully accessible for all mobility needs. Please reach out to us before your visit and we'll do our best to accommodate you.
Can I bring my dog?
We love dogs, but to keep our animals calm and safe, we ask that you leave your pups at home for this one.
What if it rains?
Light rain won't stop us — the animals are out in all kinds of weather and honestly, so are we. In the case of severe weather, we'll reach out to reschedule your visit.
Are the animals friendly and safe for children?
Yes — our animals are gentle and accustomed to visitors. Children are welcome and tend to be the alpacas' favorite guests. Children under 12 are always free.
What can I expect during my visit?
Your 30-minute visit is unhurried and intimate. You'll have time to meet our alpacas, greet the chickens and ducks, and simply be in the space. For biosecurity reasons, we don't allow visitors into the coop or shelter, but you get plenty of interaction from the fence.
Where do I park?
There is parking available on the property. Detailed directions and parking instructions will be included in your confirmation email after you sign up.
What should I wear and bring?
Wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes — you'll be on farm ground. Dress for the weather and bring a water bottle. Everything else, we've got covered.
