Description
This framed weaving combines alpaca, wool and other yarn using an inlay technique that creates fun fringe at the ends.
Every piece and part of my framed weavings are handmade. The frame, itself, is constructed of wood that originated from our 19th century farmhouse. As we have renovated, we have tried to preserve everything we can. I have stained the molding around the frame to complement the yarn in the weaving, which has been permanently assembled to the frame. It is ready to hang. I have hand-spun much of the yarn in the weaving, including from the fleece from our alpaca.
I often find inspiration in nature and stories, and love playing with color and texture.
